Popsixle Privacy Mode

The Popsixle App has two options for privacy settings: 

1) Standard

Popsixle's Standard privacy setting is the default for all accounts that install with the Popsixle App. You can review the standard privacy policy here: Popsixle Privacy Policy

Section 3.1."User Information Collected" explains how all of the PII data Popsixle processes is de-identified using SHA-256 hashing. 
Once the data is sent to Meta/Google/TikTok, it is further de-identified when added to our internal logs (by zeroing out 1/3 of the data). Those logs are stored for 30 days and then deleted. Popsixle does not collect any data other than what is sent to the ad platforms. The stored data is in a single container with commingled, de-identified and anonymized data across clients. 

2) Privacy Mode

Popsixle customers who want a more rigorous level of privacy can toggle on the app's Privacy Mode setting.  This applies a stricter anonymization of data in compliance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). 
Customers can easily toggle on Privacy Mode: just go into the Popsixle App via Shopify Admin go to Settings> Privacy Settings select then toggle on "Enable Privacy Mode."

With Privacy Mode enabled, Popsixle automatically protects and anonymizes user data based on location and preferences, opting out of tracking as needed.  Popsixle monitors cookie opt-outs for opted-out users and hashed email/phone information gets fully anonymized by zeroing out the last 24 digits of the 64 digit hash, as well as the zeroing out the last octet of ip addresses. This data privacy applies only to users in certain countries or those who have opted out of tracking.
The table below shows which data is sent, withheld, or anonymized for untracked visitors.
Keep in mind that reduced tracking means less data is sent to ad platforms, which may affect ad performance, so consider the balance of your performance needs with a preference for stricter privacy.
